“I met Chris January of 2014 at West Pines Golf Club on the driving range. I had picked up golf at the end of 2012 and took a nine-month sabbatical in my journey to become any type of consistent golfer. I reaffirmed my desire to play and spent my lunch breaks at West Pines haphazardly hitting balls, spraying the range when Chris offered me a few tips while he was walking by on the range. I appreciated his genuine concern for my golf swing or lack there of and inquired about whether he offered lessons. The following week I had my first lesson with Chris. I told him about my previous work with other instructors on the west coast and how I was trying to remember all the things I was taught. Chris offered me a simpler solution. He suggested that I forget it all, embrace my swing and he would find a swing that would fit my body, versus trying to fit my body into a cookie cutter swing. He doesn’t use buzz words found in Golf Digest, he doesn’t bring out gimmicky swing trainers, and leaves the data mining where it belongs, on the PGA Tour. Chris focuses on ball flight and consistency, something that the average amateur doesn’t spend enough time on.  We’ve consistently been working since January of 2014. I usually schedule an official lesson with him once a month or so, but am fortunate enough that his care for his students goes well beyond an appointment book or lesson fees. I can find him on the range at any given time, offering suggestions as he passes by and even taking a few minutes to give some more in-depth knowledge of the game. Chris teaches in a way that I can understand, and after observing a few lessons Chris has given to others, Chris teaches people much like he teaches the golf swing, in a way that fits the individual, not the individual needing to fit his teaching. When I started working with Chris I had never shot under a 92. I shoot consistently in the high 70’s and low 80’s and remain vigilant in my push towards being a scratch golfer. Chris is the type of instructor that makes me feel that with the right amount of work, I can accomplish my goals. Chris is more than an instructor, he’s a friend, a confidant, and someone, who while being younger than me, I look up to. I would and have recommended Chris to anyone who is struggling with their game because of how well he teaches the game, mentally and physically.”

"It's great to be able to go to an instructor who is knowledgeable, patient and makes learning about the golf swing fun again.  It has been great getting my golf swing back on plane by working on just ball position and posture.  By just concentrating on these two aspects of my golf swing, I am once again enjoying the game of golf thanks to working with Chris.  As a fellow golf professional, it is great to have someone I can trust, nearby, to work on my swing."

"It’s never too late.  Just like most people I gave golf a whirl in my teens and early twenties here and there, but never really had that much fun as I just didn’t know what I was doing.  I now know that I didn’t have fun because I had never had anyone give me good advice on where to start and the fundamentals of the sport.  After turning down countless opportunities to go play golf I decided at age 38 to learn something new from a professional.  I’m not a natural athlete by any means but after teaching tennis for over 15 years I do have an appreciation for solid instruction.  Without a question Chris is a top notch instructor.  I basically called Chris and asked if he would be willing to give me lessons and truly start from the beginning as if I didn’t even know how to spell golf.  Chris is super patient and very flexible in his approach tailoring his methods to each student, for me he tried to start with what I knew about tennis and it really helped.  I took 5 or 6 lessons over a few months and then I went on a golf trip, I had a blast.  I’ve now gone back on the trip for a second year and I’m right in the middle of the pack.  If you’re reading this it’s more than likely because you’re considering golf lessons, call Chris so you can start enjoying a great sport."
